Sino Suisse Speaks on CRS and Cross-Border Wealth Transparency at GGCC 2026 Hong Kong

Franck Chen of Sino Suisse speaking on the CRS panel at GGCC 2026 Hong Kong

Hong Kong, 27 October 2026 — Franck Chen, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Sino Suisse Capital, was invited to speak at the Globevisa Global Citizen Conference (GGCC) 2026, held on 26–27 October at the JW Marriott Hong Kong. Now in its second edition and held under the theme “By Asia, For Asia, To the World”, the conference brought together government programme officials, industry leaders, family offices and legal and tax professionals from more than 40 countries and regions.

Franck joined Panel 6, “CRS, Global Tax Planning, and a New Era of Cross-Border Wealth Transparency”, alongside fellow specialists in cross-border finance and tax law. The discussion covered how tax residency is determined, the reporting of overseas income, the latest developments under CRS 2.0, tax issues relating to offshore trusts, and compliance-focused approaches to structuring wealth across borders.

Drawing on Sino Suisse’s experience as an independent external asset manager serving clients in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Franck used real client cases to show how priorities have shifted: “Clients used to ask which fund had the highest return. Now they ask which account can actually be opened, and which structure is more compliant.”

The next phase: CRS 2.0 and CARF

The discussion comes as jurisdictions prepare for the next phase of automatic exchange of information. The OECD’s amendments to the CRS — widely referred to as “CRS 2.0” — together with the new Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF), extend reporting to electronic money products, central bank digital currencies and crypto-assets, and strengthen due-diligence and reporting requirements. In Hong Kong, a bill to implement both frameworks was gazetted in May 2026, with CARF proposed to take effect from 1 January 2027 and the amended CRS from 1 January 2028, subject to the legislative process.

Sino Suisse thanks Globevisa for the invitation and looks forward to continuing the conversation with clients and partners on compliant cross-border wealth management.
